Glide, by Neverheard Studio
Glide sends files directly between your devices over your local network — no cloud, no account, no size limits. This page covers the most common questions and how to reach us.
Two devices can't find each other
- Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Glide only discovers devices on the local network; it cannot find devices on cellular data, on a different Wi-Fi network, or across a guest/isolated network.
- Some routers isolate devices from each other ("client isolation" or "AP isolation"). If discovery doesn't work on a particular network, check the router's settings for that option.
- Make sure Glide has local network permission: on iOS, check
Settings > Glide > Local Networkis on; on macOS, checkSystem Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network. - On Windows and Linux, allow incoming TCP and UDP on port
53317in your firewall. - Close and reopen Glide on both devices to restart discovery.
A transfer failed or was slow
- Transfers go directly between the two devices, so speed depends on your Wi-Fi, not on an internet connection. A weak signal on either device slows the transfer down.
- Keep both devices unlocked, with Glide open, and within Wi-Fi range for the whole transfer.
Where received files go
On iOS, received photos and videos can be saved to your photo library from the transfer screen; other files are kept in Glide's own storage, which you can browse from the app. On Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux, files land in your Downloads folder by default — you can pick a different folder in Settings > Receive.
